Week long recovery

Whoo! It has taken a week to sort-of kind-of get back to our routine after spring break. Since the house was a wreck from all the dirty laundry and 'stuff' from the previous week I decided to start spring cleaning. Bad idea. I have just now finished all the clothes! AH! I am buried in clothes that need to be saved for P2, need to be donated, need to go back to Durant, need to be folded, ironed, put away! CRAZY! Why did I think it was a good idea? And this past week was Whine Central Station! I swear I haven't heard a normal voice from either of my kids in a week! Everything is a whine. So my mom will be here tomorrow and she will see my house as if WWIII happened but honestly I don't care. Because she's my mom and will love me any way :)

Spring Break Skiing!

I have never skied or gone west for that matter! I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate PC's last spring break than to go skiing in CO just the 5 of us! Well it was a whirl-wind week! The weekend before PC worked an ER shift so we were to leave around 10pm Sunday to CO. Well we visited some friends that we haven't been able to see in a while and by the end of the evening we noticed that P2 was having some difficulty breathing! Thank goodness for PC b/c I am not a nurse nor a doctor. I am not a very sympathetic person unfortunately! I just wrote it off that he was probably teething and was having some allergy problems too. Yeah well we went to the ER and he had RSV! Great job mom. We had meds called into OKC and left that night around 10pm and headed on our way to CO. We drove all night and the kids woke up in the AM to the beautiful Kansas plains then on to the Rockies :) They loved all the sights! I loved all the sights! We stayed M-F and the kids took ski lessons two days. The Princess passed two levels and P1 passed one! He only passed one b/c he didn't want to stop going down the mountain and didn't understand why he needed to! He wanted to go down the whole thing :) Oh that boy! P2 stayed in the condo with me recovering and by Friday was back to his old self...cranky and wondering why he was he in a car seat the first day he felt fine. They had a blast and learned so much! Can't wait till next time!

Weekend Blues

Yes this weekend was a toughy for me. Days like those make me wish my mom was closer. I don't mean to whine, although I feel like that is all I did all weekend. We had a wedding that we went to that brought a lot of mixed feelings to the surface and it was hard on the two of us to really come to terms what exactly we had a hard time with exactly. As many of you know I am not one to be at a loss of words :) But this weekend it really was that. I had nothing that I could say was particularly the problem except that 9 years ago I too went through the very thing the bride is going through now and it was hard to go through it alone in a town I had never been to and no family or friends around. The thing is I don't wallow in self-pity. I really don't. It may seem like it from this post but the amazing thing is I was able to reflect on how much God has done for our family. Yes we have made mistakes but God has used our family to grow stronger and bring us together as one! I will never understand some of the things that happened during that trial or even continue to happen but our beautiful healthy family is the greatest blessing I will ever experience. I cannot imagine our life with out any of our kids or without my Prince Charming.

Harry Potter Party for the Princess!

Oh I had tons of fun planning this party! The Princess finished the HP series and wanted a HP party for her birthday. At first I was really hesitant because I didn't know how to make it fun, light, and age appropriate for guests who didn't know anything about HP. So with lots of fun playing with some websites I came up with a few ideas and she loved it! She was so cute! She dressed up as Hermione and even 'cast' a spell to blow out her candles! So funny! PC cast a spell on the kids' drinks and their sprite cups turned different colors! We really enjoyed seeing our families and having a fun time with friends!

70th wedding anniversary

My great-grandparents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past weekend. They are such amazing people! My great-grandma did not come from a good family. Her father tried to give her to an orphanage after her mother died. How sad to think that she was not wanted! Then she had an awful stepmother. My grandpa had a wonderful family.  They are such true examples of God's love for us and of how marriage should be! He has worked so hard through all these years to provide for his family. He still goes out on the tractor and takes care of the farm! My 90+ year old g-grandpa has more energy than me! :) My g-grandma was able to stay at home and raise the four kids the entire time. I am so blessed to have such wonderful great-grandparents!

P2 is 6 months!

Oh why oh why must kids grow so quickly? It seems like yesterday he was born! PC's aunt Lana has been so wonderful to us by checking on us and asking how everyone is doing. SHE WARNED ME! #3 goes by so much quicker! Really it is so crazy how fast he has grown! I miss his little baby baby stage. I miss him wanting to cuddle more. Yes he still wants to cuddle but not like now! I haven't had his birthday shots done by our photographer so I snapped some myself :) Yes he still has the Boppy behind him b/c I am still panicked since our ER visit :( I know I shouldn't but I'm still a worried mama! He does do fine sitting up on his own but he 'dances' and swings himself around!

Sunday Singing and Swimming

The Princess sang at church on Sunday. Her daddy was so proud b/c she knew all the words and sang loud and clear! I'm busy taking photos so how was I supposed to know she knew all the words?! But of course she did she's our little girl! I don't know if it is because she has had a birthday recently but oh how she is looking so grown up! Our little girl is turning into a little lady right before our eyes.

Sunday we also had a swim meet! The Princess' and Prince 1's first one! They did awesome! The Princess got 1st place in each of her meets! The messed up on P1's information and he participated in three instead of two! He was beat afterwards :) He received 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. We were so proud! 20 yards is hard on a three year old three times!

Great Wolf Lodge

Howling like a wolf :)
Has no idea what to do

So this week has been crazy! Whoo! The Princess had her birthday week. (Each meal was planned by her and we did special things throughout the week we don't normally do) Friday we all left for Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. Prince Charming had yet another crazy stressful exam so he slept while I drove. The Princess and Prince 1 were so excited to be going! They love to swim! Prince 2 was quite scared when we got there. He just didn't know what to make of all the water/noise/craziness! He kept holding onto PC or me and just staring at everything. The kids loved the bunk beds and P1 loved touching the ceiling :) It was a big highlight of the trip! The Princess is so fearless! She went through all the tunnels and slides without ever hesitating!  She loved every minute of it! I brought along some spray cheez whiz and the kids had some on crackers for the first time! So fun! I love making memories like this! I hope whenever they look back and remember all the things we did wrong they will at least remember some of the fun we have had :D
