Royal Watch Party!

Well I know tons of people were either really excited about the royal wedding or annoyed by all the coverage. I was excited! Apparently by these pictures the kids were to but they really had no clue why they were excited :)

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter! We had two Easter egg hunts and fun seeing family. The first Easter egg hunt was at our church indoor since it was so cold! The kids had fun with many activities to keep them busy then a play about Christ dying and rising again. It was beautiful. P1 I am afraid is a tad bit like his father. A little OCD. He would only pick up the 'dark blue eggs'. Hmm what will he be like as a teenager?! PC was able to join us and he helped the kids play with the race cars. They had lots of fun!
The second Easter egg hunt was quite a disaster. We had it with our SS class in the park. PC was in charge of the older two while I stood back holding P2. Well he wasn't standing near them and whenever the under 2s were going first the Princess didn't hear them so went forward. PC told her to stop and of course this resulted in a meltdown of sorts so she dumped her basket. By the time he 'fixed' the problem the eggs were all taken. And of course P1 just stands there staring at the situation which results in no eggs for him as well. So with two crying kids and then P2 crying bc everyone else is, the other adults take pity on the situation and make their kids give up some eggs. Now everyone is crying.

When we went to Durant G of course had tons of goodies waiting for them! She spoils them so much :) They made a bunny cake all together and but I think they had more fun licking the icing :)

Fun filled April!

This month I highlighted all the wonderful (free!) things to do in Tulsa from Tulsa Kids magazine. Since Prince Charming was going to be super busy from studying I thought we should busy ourselves with anything fun to do! And man did we! We went to the library where they had 'Big Trucks' and the kids got to talk to each of the operators who described their jobs. The kids loved it! P1 loved getting into a semi and pretending to drive. The Princess loved talking to everyone :)
We went to Cowboys Traders Day in Claremore and had a blast seeing the people dressed as cowboys and cowgirls. The kids enjoyed the day outside since it was so beautiful. The Princess rode a pony and then we all went on a horse drawn carriage. They had fun with the activities. We went inside the Will Rogers Museum and read all about who he was and his role in OK history. Then we went to Owasso Garden Festival and looked at the different herbs and plants. Since it was still early in the day we went to our friends' soccer game :) P1 kept begging to go and play and wanted to know if William and Xavier had 'won' their game over and over he asked!
We had many other activities this month as well. I had my first homeschooling convention in OKC! There was so much to learn! I really enjoyed it! Aunt Katie and Uncle Aaron (or Aunt Aaron in P1's words) kept the older two so I just had P2 :) I think they wore them out but I am so thankful that they could keep them so they wouldn't be bored! Here are a few of the sayings that Aunt Katie heard:
P1- "Aunt Katie, my boogers taste like pickles"

Princess- (singing a made up song)
P1-"STOP SINGING!"
Princess-"Well if I can't sing then I will hum and if you won't let me hum I'm going to cluck!"

First run!

Easter weekend my friend Apryl and I ran our first race! We ran our first 5K in 33 minutes. We were pretty excited since we had been doing P90X and not really preparing for running until the 4 weeks prior! The time is important yes, and we would like to shorten it but we are just pleased we survived! I twisted both ankles and had them taped for the race. Let me just tell you that I hurt. I hurt really bad afterwards! But all I could see is the people in front of me and I had to keep going! I am so thankful God brought Apryl into my life to make med school a little easier to handle! We workout M-Th at 9pm together since our kids are in bed (and most of the time our husbands :)) The ankle is still not healed but I hope it gets better in time for our next run so we can work towards our goal of a full marathon next year!
